Trust Wallet Launches $7M Compensation Plan Following Chrome Extension Exploit
Trust Wallet has initiated a formal compensation process for users impacted by a security breach in its Chrome browser extension. The incident, caused by malicious code in a recent update, exposed wallet seed phrases and resulted in significant cryptocurrency losses.
Affected users can now submit claims through an official form, providing details such as email, country of residence, compromised wallet addresses, and transaction hashes. Trust Wallet has pledged to review all submissions promptly and compensate verified victims.
The company acknowledged the breach's disruption in a December 26 statement on X, confirming that its support team has begun contacting impacted users. Each case will be handled individually as the firm works to restore trust in its platform.
